In Friday's league match, the host Nevada Cubs football squad scored a good 34-25 victory over the Winterset Huskies.
The Cubs (4-1) will now prepare for their match against Williamsburg (Williamsburg, IA). The Raiders enter the 3A District 5 match with a 2-3 record. In their last match, Williamsburg defeated Des Moines Christian (Des Moines, IA), 17-14, in a league match.
Coming up next, the Huskies meet the Knoxville Panthers (Knoxville, IA) in a 3A District 5 battle, on Friday, October 3. Winterset will attempt to improve on its 2-3 season record. The Panthers go into the battle with a 1-4 record after their 37-21 league win over Saydel (Des Moines, IA).
