De La Salle Spartans (Concord, CA) followers went home in high spirits Friday as they saw their football team achieve victory over the visiting St. Mary's Rams (Stockton, CA), 28-7 in a non-league match.

The Spartans (4-1) will now prepare for their match against Cathedral Catholic (San Diego, CA). The Dons go into the non-league battle with a 4-2 record. In their last match, Cathedral Catholic defeated Granite Hills (El Cajon, CA), 49-7, in a non-league match.

Coming up next, the Rams meet the Lodi Flames (Lodi, CA) in a match, on Friday, October 3. St. Mary's will attempt to upgrade on its 1-4 season record. The Flames come into the match with a 2-3 record after their 48-0 non-league win over Buhach Colony (Atwater, CA).
