Cushing Academy Penguins (Ashburnham, MA) fans went home happy Friday as they saw their soccer squad hold off the host New Hampton School Huskies (New Hampton, NH), 2-1 in a non-league outing.

The Penguins (1-5) will now prepare for their outing against Winchendon (Winchendon, MA). The Wapiti enter the NEPSAC Freelance outing with a 2-3 record. In their last outing, Winchendon was edged by Marianapolis Prep (Thompson, CT), 5-2, in a non-league outing.

Next up, the Huskies confront the Brewster Academy National Bobcats (Wolfeboro, NH) in a Lakes Region outing, on Wednesday, October 1. New Hampton School will attempt to improve on its 1-4 season record. The Bobcats enter the outing with a 4-2 record after their 2-0 non-league win over Hyde (Bath, ME).
