In Friday's non-league challenge, the host Urban Blues volleyball team scored a 3-0 victory over the Emery Spartans.

The Blues (7-9) will now prepare for their challenge against University (San Francisco, CA). The Red Devils enter the Bay Counties - West test with a 13-3 record. In their last test, University achieved victory over Convent of the Sacred Heart (San Francisco, CA), 3-0, in a league test.

The Spartans now own a 5-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Coliseum College Prep Academy for a non-league test on Wednesday, October 1. Emery will face a Lions squad coming off a 3-1 league loss to McClymonds (Oakland, CA). The Lions record now stands at 5-2.
