Roxana Shells (Roxana, IL) fans were thrilled Wednesday as they observed their soccer team knock off the visiting Jersey Panthers (Jerseyville, IL), 4-2 in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Shells face the East Alton-Wood River Oilers (Wood River, IL) in a Cahokia (Mississippi Division) challenge, on Saturday, September 30. Roxana will attempt to better on its 5-8 season record. The Oilers enter the challenge with a 6-10 record after their 9-0 non-league loss to Civic Memorial (Bethalto, IL).

The Panthers now have a 2-11 record. They take the field next when they host Waterloo for a Mississippi Valley challenge on Tuesday, October 3.
