Richfield Spartans (Richfield, MN) fans were pleased Wednesday as they observed their soccer team hold off the visiting South St. Paul Packers (South St. Paul, MN), 2-1 in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Spartans confront the St. Anthony Village Huskies (Minneapolis, MN) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, October 3. Richfield will attempt to better on its 5-7 season record.

The Packers now have a 2-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Simley for a Class A Section 3 challenge on Thursday, September 28. South St. Paul will confront a Spartans team coming off a 3-0 non-league loss to Mahtomedi (Mahtomedi, MN). The Spartans record now stands at 5-6.
