Alabama High School Football - Appalachian defeats Section

September 27, 2024: Oneonta, AL 35121

In Friday's non-league match, the host Appalachian Eagles football squad scored a good 41-14 victory over the Section Lions.

The Eagles (5-1) will now prepare for their match against Spring Garden (Spring Garden, AL). The Panthers enter the 1A Region 8 match with a 6-0 record. In their last match, Spring Garden thwarted Cedar Bluff (Cedar Bluff, AL), 54-0, in a non-league match.

Coming up next, the Lions confront the Gaston Bulldogs (Gadsden, AL) in a 2A Region 7 match, on Friday, October 4. Section will attempt to upgrade on its 1-5 season record. The Bulldogs enter the match with a 1-4 record after their 41-0 non-league loss to Whitesburg Christian Academy (Huntsville, AL).
