The Blooming Grove Lions football team (Blooming Grove, TX), was crushed 40-8 in Friday's non-league bout with the visiting Clifton Cubs (Clifton, TX)

With the win, Clifton advances its record to 3-2 on the season. The Cubs host Eastland (Eastland, TX) to encounter the Mavericks in a 3A-2 Region II District 5 bout on Friday, October 11.
