Hubbertville Lions (Fayette, AL) fans went home in high spirits Friday as they saw their football team triumph over the host Holy Spirit Catholic Saints (Tuscaloosa, AL), 56-20 in a non-league battle.

With the win, Hubbertville improves its record to 4-1 on the season. The Lions host Pickens County (Reform, AL) to play the Tornadoes in a 1A Region 5 battle on Friday, October 4. The Tornadoes go into the battle with a record of 2-4. Pickens County lost 44-0 in their recent non-league battle against Gordo (Gordo, AL)

The Saints now have a 2-4 record. They play next when they host Pickens Academy for a 1A Region 3 battle on Friday, October 4. Holy Spirit Catholic will play a Pirates team coming off a 49-0 non-league loss to Holt (Holt, AL). The Pirates record now stands at 0-6.
