The crowd at Friday's league contest between the Port Neches-Groves Indians (Port Neches, TX) and the visiting Lake Creek Lions (Montgomery, TX), witnessed Port Neches-Groves's football squad edge Lake Creek by a tally of 62-56.

The Indians (4-0) will now prepare for their contest against Huntsville (Huntsville, TX). The Hornets enter the 5A-2 Region II District 8 contest with a 3-1 record. In their last contest, Huntsville got by West Fork (Kingwood, TX), 42-7, in a league contest.

Coming up next, the Lions battle the Montgomery Bears (Montgomery, TX) in a 5A-2 Region II District 8 contest, on Friday, October 4. Lake Creek will attempt to better on its 2-2 season record. The Bears enter the contest with a 4-0 record after their 47-14 league win over Dayton (Dayton, TX).
