The crowd at Friday's league contest between the McCool Junction Mustangs (McCool Junction, NE) and the visiting Mead Raiders (Mead, NE), witnessed McCool Junction's football squad topple Mead by a count of 50-30.

The Mustangs (3-2) will now prepare for their contest against Heartland (Henderson, NE). The Huskies enter the D1 District 6 (8 Man) contest with a 0-5 record. In their last contest, Heartland was outscored by Centennial (Utica, NE), 38-0, in a league contest.

Coming up next, the Raiders confront the East Butler Tigers (Brainard, NE) in a D1 District 6 (8 Man) contest, on Friday, October 4. Mead will attempt to upgrade on its 0-5 season record. The Tigers enter the contest with a 3-2 record after their 42-12 league loss to Shelby-Rising City (Shelby, NE).
