Connecticut High School Football - Newtown tops Southington

September 27, 2024: Southington, CT 06489

The Newtown Nighthawks football squad scored 35 points and limited the host Southington Blue Knights to 21 in the Nighthawks non-league triumph on Friday.

The Nighthawks now sport a 3-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to New Milford for a South-West test on Friday, October 4. Newtown will meet a Green Wave squad coming off a 32-21 non-league loss to Bristol Central (Bristol, CT). The Green Wave record now stands at 2-1.

With the defeat, Southington drops to 1-2 on the campaign. The Blue knights host New Britain (New Britain, CT) to meet the Golden Hurricanes in a Central Connecticut - Tier 1 test on Friday, October 4. The Golden Hurricanes come into the test with a record of 3-0. New Britain won 36-33 in their recent non-league test against Hamden (Hamden, CT)
