The West Jones Mustangs got by the visiting Poplarville Hornets football team by a score of 10-7 in Friday's non-league challenge.
In their next game, the Mustangs play the Jackson Prep Patriots (Jackson, MS) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, October 4. West Jones will attempt to improve on its 5-0 season record. The Patriots go into the challenge with a 6-0 record after their 35-0 non-league win over Evangelical Christian (Cordova, TN).
The Hornets (4-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Moss Point (Moss Point, MS). The Tigers go into the 4A Region 8 challenge with a 0-5 record. In their last challenge, Moss Point was edged by West Harrison (Gulfport, MS), 48-13, in a non-league challenge.
