In Friday's league game, the Valley View Cougars (Archbald, PA) football team were victorious over the host Scranton Knights (Scranton, PA), by a score of 34-21.

In their next game, the Cougars face the North Pocono Trojans (Covington Township, PA) in a Lackawanna 1 game, on Friday, October 4. Valley View will attempt to improve on its 5-1 season record. The Trojans enter the game with a 3-3 record after their 45-28 non-league loss to Dallas (Dallas, PA).

The Knights (4-2) will now prepare for their game against Wallenpaupack Area (Hawley, PA). The Buckhorns enter the Lackawanna 1 game with a 3-3 record. In their last game, Wallenpaupack Area fell by Scranton Prep (Scranton, PA), 42-13, in a league game.
