In Friday's league challenge, the visiting Notre Dame Bishop Gibbons Golden Knights volleyball team scored a 3-1 triumph over the Mekeel Christian Academy Lions.

The Golden Knights (6-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Johnstown (Johnstown, NY). The Sir Bills come into the Section 2 Western - Northern challenge with a 4-3 record. In their last challenge, Johnstown was beaten by Canajoharie/Fort Plain (Canajoharie, NY), 3-2, in a league challenge.

Next, the Lions meet the Galway Golden Eagles (Galway, NY) in a Section 2 Western - Northern challenge, on Tuesday, October 1. Mekeel Christian Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 5-3 season record. The Golden Eagles come into the challenge with a 16-2 record after their 3-0 league win over Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville (St. Johnsville, NY).
