Mayo Spartans (Rochester, MN) fans went home in high spirits Saturday as they observed their soccer squad nudge the visiting Century Panthers (Rochester, MN), 3-2 in a league outing.

The Spartans (7-2) will now prepare for their outing against Albert Lea (Albert Lea, MN). The Tigers go into the non-league outing with a 3-12 record. In their last outing, Albert Lea was edged by Pine Island (Pine Island, MN), 3-0, in a non-league outing.

Next, the Panthers clash with the New Prague Trojans (New Prague, MN) in a Class AA Section 1 bout, on Sunday, September 28. Century will attempt to improve on its 7-2 season record. The Trojans go into the bout with a 4-6 record after their 2-1 non-league win over Chanhassen (Chanhassen, MN).
