The crowd at Saturday's non-league bout between the Simpson Academy Cougars (Mendenhall, MS) and the host Silliman Institute Wildcats (Clinton, LA), observed Simpson Academy's softball team prevail over Silliman Institute by a tally of 16-6.
The Cougars (27-6) will now prepare for their bout against Cathedral (Natchez, MS). The Green Wave enter the non-league contest with a 0-1 record. In their last contest, Cathedral was routed by Simpson Academy (Mendenhall, MS), 10-0, in a non-league contest.
The Wildcats now hold a 0-1 record.
