Mankato West Scarlets (Mankato, MN) backers were pleased Saturday as they witnessed their volleyball team overcome the visiting Alden-Conger Knights (Alden, MN), 2-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Scarlets (11-9) will now prepare for their challenge against Spring Grove (Spring Grove, MN). The Lions come into the non-league challenge with a 8-7 record. In their last challenge, Spring Grove beat Lanesboro (Lanesboro, MN), 3-1, in a league challenge.

Next, the Knights play the Cleveland Clippers (Cleveland, MN) in a Valley game, on Thursday, October 2. Alden-Conger will attempt to advance on its 14-4 season record.
