In Saturday's non-league challenge, the host Alma Panthers volleyball team scored a 2-0 triumph over the Meridian Mustangs.

The Panthers (25-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Garber (Essexville, MI). The Dukes come into the Tri-Valley - East challenge with a 22-8 record. In their last challenge, Garber beat Millington (Millington, MI), 2-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Mustangs meet the Beaverton Beavers (Beaverton, MI) in a Jack Pine challenge, on Wednesday, October 1. Meridian will attempt to upgrade on its 0-12 season record. The Beavers come into the challenge with a 6-14 record after their 3-1 league win over St. Louis (St. Louis, MI).
