Fans at Saturday's non-league contest between the Lyons Lions (Lyons, KS) and the visiting Sterling Black Bears (Sterling, KS), observed Lyons's volleyball team top Sterling by a count of 2-0.

The Lions (2-16) will now prepare for their contest against Ellsworth (Ellsworth, KS). The Bearcats enter the non-league battle with a 18-5 record. In their last battle, Ellsworth dropped by Little River (Little River, KS), 2-1, in a non-league battle.

The Black Bears now own a 9-10 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to South Haven for a non-league battle on Saturday, September 27. Sterling will encounter a Cardinals squad coming off a 2-0 league win over West Elk (Howard, KS). The Cardinals record now stands at 3-11.
