Mayfair Monsoons (Lakewood, CA) backers were pleased Saturday as they witnessed their volleyball team overcome the host Marquez Gladiators (Huntington Park, CA), 2-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Monsoons (7-16) will now prepare for their challenge against Cabrillo (Long Beach, CA). The Jaguars come into the non-league challenge with a 0-14 record. In their last challenge, Cabrillo went down by Long Beach Poly (Long Beach, CA), 3-0, in a league test.

The Gladiators now sport a 6-14 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Maywood CES for a Southern test on Monday, September 29. Marquez will play a Wolfpack team coming off a 1-0 non-league loss to Grant (Van Nuys, CA). The Wolfpack record now stands at 16-13.
