The Russell County Lakers volleyball team (Russell Springs, KY), was beaten 2-0 in Saturday's non-league challenge with the visiting Nelson County Cardinals (Bardstown, KY)

The Cardinals (5-15) will now prepare for their challenge against Franklin County (Frankfort, KY). The Flyers enter the non-league challenge with a 14-12 record. In their last challenge, Franklin County beat Woodford County (Versailles, KY), 3-2, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Lakers meet the Larue County Hawks (Hodgenville, KY) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, September 27. Russell County will attempt to upgrade on its 19-10 season record. The Hawks enter the challenge with a 8-13 record after their 3-1 non-league loss to Bethlehem (Bardstown, KY).
