The Newport Cubs edged the visiting Siuslaw Vikings volleyball squad by a final score of 2-1 in Saturday's non-league game.

Next up, the Cubs play the Klamath Union Pelicans (Klamath Falls, OR) in a non-league outing, on Saturday, September 27. Newport will attempt to upgrade on its 4-4 season record. The Pelicans come into the outing with a 1-8 record after their 3-2 league loss to Phoenix (Phoenix, OR).

With the loss, Siuslaw drops to 5-6 on the campaign. The Vikings host South Umpqua (Myrtle Creek, OR) to confront the Lancers in a 3A Far West game on Tuesday, September 30.
