The Stoneham Spartans volleyball team scored 3 points and restricted the host Winthrop Vikings to 2 in the Spartans non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Spartans now have a 4-5 record. They play next when they host Burlington for a Middlesex outing on Monday, September 29. Stoneham will confront a Red Devils squad coming off a 3-0 league win over Wilmington (Wilmington, MA). The Red Devils record now stands at 8-1.

The Vikings (1-8) will now prepare for their game against Swampscott (Swampscott, MA). The Big Blue go into the Northeast game with a 6-3 record. In their last game, Swampscott was edged by Revere (Revere, MA), 3-2, in a non-league game.
