In Thursday's league game, the La Mirada Matadores (La Mirada, CA) football team got by the visiting Dominguez Dons (Compton, CA), by a score of 21-14.

The Matadores (2-4) will now prepare for their game against Mayfair (Lakewood, CA). The Monsoons come into the Gateway game with a 4-2 record. In their last game, Mayfair was tipped by Warren (Downey, CA), 49-14, in a league game.

The Dons now sport a 5-1 record. They take the field next when they host Downey for a Gateway game on Friday, October 6. Dominguez will battle a Vikings team coming off a 35-10 league win over Norwalk (Norwalk, CA). The Vikings record now stands at 5-1.
