In Thursday's league game, the Philomath Warriors (Philomath, OR) football team tipped the host Stayton Eagles (Stayton, OR), by a score of 21-20.
The Warriors (3-2) will now prepare for their game against Cascade (Turner, OR). The Cougars come into the 4A Special District 3 game with a 4-1 record. In their last game, Cascade got by Cottage Grove (Cottage Grove, OR), 46-0, in a league game.
The Eagles now sport a 2-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to North Bend for a non-league game on Friday, October 6. Stayton will battle a Bulldogs team coming off a 31-28 non-league win over Santiam Christian (Corvallis, OR). The Bulldogs record now stands at 5-1.
