Normandy Vikings (St. Louis, MO) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Hazelwood East Spartans (St. Louis, MO), 17-12 in a non-league challenge.

The Vikings now own a 1-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to McCluer for a non-league challenge on Monday, October 2.

With the loss, Hazelwood East falls to 0-11 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to Riverview Gardens (St. Louis, MO) to clash with the Rams in a non-league game on Tuesday, October 3. The Rams come into the game with a record of 2-5.
