In Thursday's league contest, the Hoxie Mustangs (Hoxie, AR) volleyball squad were winner over the visiting Newport Greyhounds (Newport, AR), by a margin of 3-0.

Next up, the Mustangs battle the Bald Knob Bulldogs (Bald Knob, AR) in a 3A Northeast contest, on Monday, October 2. Hoxie will attempt to better on its 5-12 season record. The Bulldogs go into the contest with a 0-15 record after their 3-0 league loss to Manila (Manila, AR).

With the loss, Newport moves to 6-11 on the year. The Greyhounds travel to Crowley's Ridge Academy (Paragould, AR) to battle the Falcons in a 3A Northeast contest on Tuesday, October 3. The Falcons go into the contest with a record of 14-5.
