The St. Croix Central Panthers held off the host Somerset Spartans volleyball team by a score of 3-2 in Thursday's league test.

The Panthers now have a 9-12 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Turtle Lake for a non-league test on Saturday, September 30. St. Croix Central will confront a Lakers team coming off a 3-0 league win over Northwood (Minong, WI). The Lakers record now stands at 14-12.

The Spartans (4-10) will now prepare for their test against Grantsburg (Grantsburg, WI). The Pirates enter the non-league test with a 16-5 record. In their last test, Grantsburg held off Frederic (Frederic, WI), 3-2, in a league test.
