In their next game, the Spartans face the Janesville Craig Cougars (Janesville, WI) in a Big Eight challenge, on Saturday, October 5. Vel Phillips Memorial will attempt to improve on its 5-1 season record. The Cougars enter the challenge with a 4-2 record after their 42-28 league win over Janesville Parker (Janesville, WI).

The Purgolders (0-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Middleton (Middleton, WI). The Cardinals enter the Big Eight challenge with a 3-3 record. In their last challenge, Middleton was ripped by Verona (Verona, WI), 21-7, in a league challenge.
