The Festus Tigers overwhelmed the host East Carter Redbirds softball squad by a count of 8-2 in Saturday's non-league challenge.

Next, the Tigers meet the Notre Dame Rebels (St. Louis, MO) in a Class 3 District 3 challenge, on Saturday, September 28. Festus will attempt to upgrade on its 15-9 season record. The Rebels go into the challenge with a 2-5 record after their 9-0 non-league win over Nerinx Hall (Webster Groves, MO).

The Redbirds (7-7) will now prepare for their challenge against Jefferson (Festus, MO). The Blue Jays go into the non-league challenge with a 9-10 record. In their last challenge, Jefferson was routed by Central (Cape Girardeau, MO), 13-3, in a non-league challenge.
