In Saturday's non-league challenge, the host Newman Greenies volleyball team scored a 2-0 triumph over the Hammond Tornadoes.

The Greenies (12-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Slidell (Slidell, LA). The Tigers come into the non-league challenge with a 13-1 record. In their last challenge, Slidell beat Brusly (Brusly, LA), 2-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Tornadoes play the Springfield Bulldogs (Springfield, LA) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, September 30. Hammond will attempt to upgrade on its 10-7 season record. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a 3-9 record after their 3-0 league loss to St. Thomas Aquinas (Hammond, LA).
