In Saturday's non-league challenge, the visiting Waverly-Shell Rock Go-Hawks volleyball team scored a close 2-1 triumph over the Vinton-Shellsburg Vikings.

The Go-Hawks (9-13) will now prepare for their challenge against Osage (Osage, IA). The Green Devils come into the non-league challenge with a 10-11 record. In their last challenge, Osage was nudged by Washington (Cedar Rapids, IA), 2-0, in a league challenge.

Next, the Vikings meet the South Tama County Trojans (Tama, IA) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, October 1. Vinton-Shellsburg will attempt to upgrade on its 7-21 season record. The Trojans come into the challenge with a 9-15 record after their 2-0 league loss to Mid-Prairie (Wellman, IA).
