In Thursday's non-league match, the host Sutherland Sailors football squad scored a big 54-0 victory over the Morrill Lions.
In their next game, the Sailors clash with the Sandhills Valley Mavericks (Stapleton, NE) in a D1 District 10 (8 Man) match, on Friday, October 7. Sutherland will attempt to move on its 2-4 season record. The Mavericks enter the match with a 5-1 record after their 26-20 league win over Perkins County (Grant, NE).
The Lions (0-6) will now prepare for their match against Bridgeport (Bridgeport, NE). The Bulldogs enter the D1 District 11 (8 Man) match with a 5-2 record. In their last match, Bridgeport routed Kimball (Kimball, NE), 67-22, in a league match.
