Rocky Ford Meloneers (Rocky Ford, CO) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the visiting Florence Huskies (Florence, CO), 13-2 in a league challenge.

The Meloneers now own a 9-11 record. They take the field next when they travel to Woodland Park for a 3A Tri Peaks challenge on Tuesday, October 4. Rocky Ford will face a Panthers squad coming off a 12-2 non-league loss to Widefield (Colorado Springs, CO). The Panthers record now stands at 5-15.

With the loss, Florence falls to 3-14 on the campaign. The Huskies travel to Gunnison (Gunnison, CO) to face the Cowboys in a non-league challenge on Saturday, October 1. The Cowboys enter the challenge with a record of 7-11. Gunnison won 24-3 in their recent league challenge against Aspen (Aspen, CO)
