    The crowd at Friday's league contest between the Giles Spartans (Pearisburg, VA) and the host Auburn Eagles (Riner, VA), observed Giles's football squad bounce Auburn by a count of 63-21.

    The Spartans now own a 2-3 record. They play next when they travel to George Wythe for a Mountain Empire contest on Friday, October 6. Giles will encounter a Maroons squad coming off a 34-19 league loss to Galax (Galax, VA). The Maroons record now stands at 2-3.

    Coming up next, the Eagles encounter the Bath County Chargers (Hot Springs, VA) in a non-league contest, on Friday, October 6. Auburn will attempt to upgrade on its 2-3 season record. The Chargers go into the contest with a 5-0 record after their 63-28 non-league win over Roanoke Catholic (Roanoke, VA).
