The Mitchell Mountaineers football team (Bakersville, NC), was knocked off 57-42 in Friday's league challenge with the visiting Draughn Wildcats (Valdese, NC)
The Wildcats (6-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Madison (Marshall, NC). The Patriots come into the Western Highlands 1A/2A challenge with a 1-5 record. In their last challenge, Madison knocked off Rosman (Rosman, NC), 36-12, in a league challenge.
The Mountaineers now sport a 6-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Mountain Heritage for a Western Highlands 1A/2A challenge on Friday, October 13.
