    • North Carolina High School Football - Elkin felled by Forbush

    In Friday's non-league game, the Forbush Falcons (East Bend, NC) football team were victorious over the host Elkin Buckin' Elks (Elkin, NC), by a score of 33-20.

    The Falcons (1-5) will now prepare for their game against East Surry (Pilot Mountain, NC). The Cardinals come into the 2A Foothills game with a 4-2 record. In their last game, East Surry knocked off Wilkes Central (Wilkesboro, NC), 25-7, in a league game.

    The Buckin' Elks now sport a 2-4 record. They take the field next when they host East Wilkes for a Northwest 1A game on Friday, October 6. Elkin will battle a Cardinals team coming off a 42-0 league loss to Mount Airy (Mount Airy, NC). The Cardinals record now stands at 4-2.
