The Geneseo Maple Leafs football team (Geneseo, IL), was beaten 13-3 in Friday's league challenge with the visiting Sterling Golden Warriors (Sterling, IL)

The Golden Warriors (3-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Quincy (Quincy, IL). The Blue Devils come into the Western Big 6 challenge with a 6-0 record. In their last challenge, Quincy knocked off Galesburg (Galesburg, IL), 56-19, in a league challenge.

The Maple Leafs now sport a 5-1 record. They take the field next when they host Mendota for a non-league challenge on Friday, October 6. Geneseo will meet a Trojans team coming off a 35-14 non-league win over Riverdale (Port Byron, IL). The Trojans record now stands at 1-5.
