Illinois High School Football - Hoopeston/Armstrong can't get by Oakwood

September 29, 2023: Hoopeston, IL

Oakwood Comets (Fithian, IL) fans left the game content Friday as they saw their football team nip the host Hoopeston/Armstrong (Hoopeston, IL), 34-30 in a league test.

With the triumph, Oakwood improves its record to 4-2 on the campaign. The Comets host Iroquois West (Gilman, IL) to confront the Raiders in a Vermilion Valley test on Friday, October 6. The Raiders come into the test with a record of 2-4. Iroquois West won 35-0 in their recent league test against Georgetown-Ridge Farm/Chrisman (Georgetown, IL)

With the loss, Hoopeston/Armstrong drops to 2-4 on the campaign. The travel to Clifton Central (Clifton, IL) to confront the Comets in a Vermilion Valley test on Friday, October 6. The Comets come into the test with a record of 2-4. Clifton Central lost 49-19 in their recent league test against Westville (Westville, IL)
