Texas High School Football - Weslaco East overwhelms Lopez

The crowd at Friday's league contest between the Weslaco East Wildcats (Weslaco, TX) and the visiting Lopez Lobos (Brownsville, TX), observed Weslaco East's football squad bounce Lopez by a count of 48-0.

The Wildcats now own a 3-3 record. They play next when they travel to Veterans Memorial for a 5A-1 Region IV District 16 contest on Friday, October 6. Weslaco East will encounter a Chargers squad coming off a 49-10 league win over Donna (Donna, TX). The Chargers record now stands at 3-2.

Coming up next, the Lobos encounter the Pace Vikings (Brownsville, TX) in a 5A-1 Region IV District 16 contest, on Thursday, October 5. Lopez will attempt to upgrade on its 1-5 season record. The Vikings go into the contest with a 2-4 record after their 54-0 league loss to Harlingen South (Harlingen, TX).
