The crowd at Friday's league contest between the Newport Grizzlies (Newport, WA) and the visiting Riverside Rams (Chattaroy, WA), observed Newport's football squad edge Riverside by a count of 37-36.

The Grizzlies now own a 3-2 record. They play next when they travel to Lakeside for a 1A Northeast contest on Friday, October 6. Newport will play a Eagles squad coming off a 26-14 league win over Freeman (Rockford, WA). The Eagles record now stands at 4-0.

Coming up next, the Rams play the West Valley Eagles (Spokane, WA) in a non-league contest, on Friday, October 6. Riverside will attempt to upgrade on its 3-2 season record. The Eagles go into the contest with a 4-1 record after their 41-21 league win over East Valley (Spokane, WA).
