In Friday's league match, the host Northgate Flames football squad scored a close 20-13 victory over the Shenango Wildcats.

In their next game, the Flames clash with the Laurel Spartan (New Castle, PA) in a WPIAL A Big 7 match, on Friday, October 6. Northgate will attempt to move on its 4-2 season record. The Spartan enter the match with a 1-5 record after their 42-14 league loss to Rochester (Rochester, PA).

The Wildcats (3-3) will now prepare for their match against South Side (Hookstown, PA). The Rams enter the WPIAL A Big 7 match with a 6-0 record. In their last match, South Side held off Summit Academy (Herman, PA), 56-7, in a league match.
