Texas High School Football - Ponder nips St. Pius X

September 29, 2023: Ponder, TX 76259

In Friday's non-league match, the host Ponder Lions football squad scored a close 21-17 victory over the St. Pius X Panthers.

In their next game, the Lions clash with the Pilot Point Bearcats (Pilot Point, TX) in a 3A-1 Region I District 4 match, on Friday, October 6. Ponder will attempt to move on its 2-3 season record. The Bearcats enter the match with a 0-5 record after their 65-7 league loss to Paradise (Paradise, TX).

The Panthers (3-3) will now prepare for their match against Concordia Lutheran (Tomball, TX). The Crusaders enter the TAPPS Division I District 2 match with a 4-1 record. In their last match, Concordia Lutheran held off The Woodlands Christian Academy (The Woodlands, TX), 51-37, in a non-league match.
