In Friday's league match, the visiting St. John's Mavericks football squad scored a big 49-7 victory over the St. Mark's Lions.
In their next game, the Mavericks clash with the Episcopal Knights (Bellaire, TX) in a Southwest Prep 4A match, on Friday, October 6. St. John's will attempt to move on its 5-1 season record. The Knights enter the match with a 6-0 record after their 42-9 league win over Episcopal School of Dallas (Dallas, TX).
The Lions (3-3) will now prepare for their match against Kinkaid (Houston, TX). The Falcons enter the Southwest Prep 4A match with a 4-2 record. In their last match, Kinkaid was crushed by St. Thomas Catholic (Houston, TX), 28-13, in a non-league match.
