Jefferson City Jays (Jefferson City, MO) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Oak Grove Panthers (Oak Grove, MO), 8-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Jays now own a 13-7 record. They take the field next when they host Smith-Cotton for a non-league challenge on Monday, October 2. Jefferson City will battle a Tigers squad coming off a 8-7 non-league win over North Callaway (Kingdom City, MO). The Tigers record now stands at 15-10.

With the loss, Oak Grove falls to 14-5 on the campaign. The Panthers host Hickman (Columbia, MO) to battle the Kewpies in a non-league challenge on Saturday, September 30. The Kewpies enter the challenge with a record of 3-14. Hickman lost 8-5 in their recent non-league challenge against Lee's Summit West (Lee's Summit, MO)
