Kickapoo Chiefs (Springfield, MO) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Sherwood Marksmen (Creighton, MO), 4-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Chiefs now own a 16-4 record. They take the field next when they host Republic for a non-league challenge on Saturday, September 30. Kickapoo will battle a Tigers squad coming off a 3-1 non-league win over Camdenton (Camdenton, MO). The Tigers record now stands at 11-10.

With the loss, Sherwood falls to 12-6 on the campaign. The Marksmen travel to Carl Junction (Carl Junction, MO) to battle the Bulldogs in a non-league challenge on Saturday, September 30. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 7-11. Carl Junction lost 8-5 in their recent non-league challenge against Lee's Summit North (Lee's Summit, MO)
