Pope Greyhounds (Marietta, GA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Walton Raiders (Marietta, GA), 5-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Greyhounds now own a 20-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Blessed Trinity for a 6A Region 7 challenge on Tuesday, October 3. Pope will face a Titans squad coming off a 16-0 non-league win over Mount Pisgah Christian (Johns Creek, GA). The Titans record now stands at 17-7.

With the loss, Walton falls to 14-7 on the campaign. The Raiders host Cherokee (Canton, GA) to face the Warriors in a 7A Region 5 challenge on Tuesday, October 3. The Warriors enter the challenge with a record of 13-8.
