In Monday's league test, the visiting Alton Redbirds soccer team scored a close 2-1 triumph over the Granite City Warriors.

With the triumph, Alton advances its record to 6-8 on the campaign. The Redbirds host Edwardsville (Edwardsville, IL) to clash with the Tigers in a Southwestern test on Tuesday, October 7. The Tigers come into the test with a record of 8-5.

The Warriors now have a 2-12 record. They take the field next when they travel to Mascoutah for a non-league test on Tuesday, September 30. Granite City will play a Indians squad coming off a 1-0 league win over Civic Memorial (Bethalto, IL). The Indians record now stands at 7-5.
