In Saturday's non-league battle, the host Lima Senior Spartans soccer squad scored a close 5-3 triumph over the Lima Central Catholic Thunderbirds.

The Spartans (2-2) will now prepare for their battle against Central Catholic (Toledo, OH). The Fighting Irish come into the Three Rivers Athletic battle with a 4-3 record. In their last battle, Central Catholic held off Perkins (Sandusky, OH), 3-2, in a non-league bout.

In their next game, the Thunderbirds battle the Fairlawn Jets (Sidney, OH) in a West Ohio bout, on Tuesday, September 6. Lima Central Catholic will attempt to move on its 1-4 season record. The Jets go into the bout with a 1-3 record after their 6-2 non-league loss to Indian Lake (Lewistown, OH).
